Depending on how wild you are going, removing as much of the hump in the exhaust port as you can, and opening up the bowls under the valves is the normal thing to do. Don't polish the intake ports. If you need more flow, a set of CJ valves, at least the exhaust, will help too... WebJul 2, 2007 · Received 267 Likes on 238 Posts. 391's had sodium exhaust valves and rotators as original. I have yet to see any FE engine with those features. The parts catalog lists different part numbers for 391 cylinder heads and gaskets as compared to FE's.
