Byzantine mosaic shield made with Venetian enamel

Description : Cut halfway, the first being in silver to the lion of sand armed with faces, to the second, a golden vase of sand, faces overlooking all, the third faces in three golden parts joined with azure, two in line (saltire) and the third in stakes and reversed.
Origins : Combination of arms of the counts of Forbach, the Lords of Vieux-Stiring (the Lion), of Sophie de Wasaborg countess of Forbach who has given her name to the Verrerie-Sophie (The vase and the Cotice) and to the Wendels (the hammers).
