Web30 Mar 2024 · The vulnerability affects the spring-beans artifact, which is a typical transitive dependency of an extremely popular framework used widely in Java applications, and requires JDK9 or newer to be running. It is a bypass for an older CVE, CVE-2010-1622 that due to a feature in JDK9 or newer seems to have been reinstated. WebDescription. A Spring MVC or Spring WebFlux application running on JDK 9+ may be vulnerable to remote code execution (RCE) via data binding. The specific exploit requires the application to run on Tomcat as a WAR deployment. If the application is deployed as a Spring Boot executable jar, i.e. the default, it is not vulnerable to the exploit.
